When the campaigning began, I was rooting for Joe Biden to lock up the Democratic nomination for president. Once he withdrew, I took his campaign photo and photoshopped "Vice" in front of president. I did this because my backup favorite was Obama, and I knew Biden would be the best option for him. Mainly due to the fact that the major complaints are Obama's inexperience, which isn't true; the guy has a ridiculous amount of life experience and I think that counts just as much as experience in the Senate. After all, most senators often get lazy from power and let lobbyists write legislation. But Joe Biden is one of the few exceptions. He has over 30 years of experience in the senate, much of which dealing with foreign policy (another area where Obama draws critcism). And in those 36 years, Biden has not succombed to the pressures of lobbyists.
Another thing I like about Biden is both his realism and bluntness. He doesn't sugar coat anything, just tells it how it is. This is why I think his bids for president never seemed to work out. Right now, in this election, Vice President is a much better fit for him, and he will certainly give Obama the independent thinking VP he needs and wants. This is something I have been hoping for for what feels like a very long time.
Sorry if this isn't my best work, but I got the text at 3:30 a.m (EST) and I was so excited that I felt compelled to write something on this great news. Mostly just to express my joy and relief that Biden is back in this thing.
